Gaming can be an excellent way to express your creativity. You're probably a creative person, and you need outlets for your ideas. But you're not a good illustrator, and literature bores you. So you turn to Sims 4. You play out family dramas as complex as those in Shakespeare's plays. You design mansions that rival those of the ancient Greeks. You do this all on your family's desktop computer without breaking a sweat. This is why gaming is important. It gives us alternate pathways to express ourselves. It's just another medium for us to explore. 

We can consume it, we can enjoy it, and if we know how to code just a tad, we can help create it. Like the invention of movies or radio, the invention of video games has done incredible things for humanity. It has shown us new ways of doing things. It has given us wonderful pastimes, and it has brought us closer together. Who knows where it will be in another fifty years… how it will change.
